GENERAL LEDGER (GL) - ACCOUNTANT

The role is responsible for ensuring the integrity and timeliness of financial reported results by using proper financial information, internal controls, and standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities

1.Integrity of the organizations financial condition and reported results

• Secure the integrity of the financial information provided to all stakeholders;

• Secure timely and compliant financial information, towards all stakeholders and relevant countries authorities;

• Ensure accuracy and statutory reports.

2.Accounting & Reporting

• Gathering supporting documentation and performing recordkeeping.

• Secure that GL accounts structure and standards are maintained and updated.

• Secure regular technical reviews on Thai and IFRS standards, and their prospective impact on P&L

• and balance sheet.

• Manage ERP system (GL, master files, sub-ledgers and reports) and reporting systems.

• Maintaining records of accounts payable and receivable, including accounts receivable aging reports and account reconciliations.

• Provide information to enable control of expenditure in line with company targets and for management decisions.

• Ensure timely preparation and review of monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations

• Aligning general ledger accounting practices to support budgeting and forecasting.

• Liaise with internal & external auditors during audits

3.Tax

• Ensures all VAT, WHT and corporate income tax filing are accurate and satisfied on a timely basis;

• Support tax queries from Thai authorities

4.Treasury & Banking

• Secure a regular foreign exchange exposure reports

• Secure proper Account payable and advances procedures

5.Internal Controls and Financial Processes

• Ensures that financial authorization procedures are current

• Maintain check list of activities of SOPs control review and activities and oversee accounting and tax requirement to ensure monthly, quarterly and yearly financial statements of Group Company are prepared properly and in compliance with relevant standardizations, SOPs, external audit requirements.

6.Others

• Involvement in special ad-hoc projects

• To perform other related duties as assigned or requested

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting;

• Strong knowledge of and experience with SAP is a preferred;

• At least 5 years working experience as a leader of GL accountant

• Experience in a multi-national company and retail/ fast moving industry is highly preferred;

• Able to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure;

• Self-motivated person with supervisory skills;

• Good interpersonal skill, able to liaise with people at all levels;

• Good in written and spoken English
