Research Manager

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES;

• Plan and lead research trials with a focus on disease challenge trials (e.g., EHP, EMS, Vibrio) within SyAqua Siams facilities, ensuring scientific validity and adherence to protocols.

• Develop and standardize SOPs for all aspects of disease challenge testing, including bioassay preparation, disease inoculation, monitoring, and end-point analysis.

• Oversee test execution quality, including monitoring environmental conditions, sampling consistency, mortality recording, and biosecurity compliance.

• Design and implement a reporting and data management system to track trial progress, performance trends, and benchmarking of SyAqua genetic lines or feed products.

• Conduct data analysis and interpretation to generate performance summaries for internal review and external communication.

• Coordinate with SyAquas genetics, nutrition, and QA teams to define research priorities and ensure alignment with commercial product development.

• Provide training and supervision to technicians and junior staff involved in challenge trials and sampling procedures.

• Ensure that all procedures are in line with local regulatory standards and animal welfare requirements.

• Maintain a library of validated trial protocols and result archives for internal knowledge management and audit readiness.

• Prepare technical reports and presentations summarizing research findings for use in internal meetings or marketing support.

QUALIFICATIONS;

1. Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Aquatic Animal Health, Pathobiology, Aquaculture, or a related field.

2. Training or certification in aquatic animal diagnostics, laboratory quality systems, or biosecurity is an advantage.

3. Experience in managing or executing disease challenge trials in aquatic species, preferably shrimp.

4. Familiarity with molecular, histological, or microbiological diagnostic tools (e.g., PCR, microscopy).

5. Experience in SOP development, QA/QC procedures, and structured reporting systems.

6. Capability in using statistical tools and software to analyze trial data.

7. Strong organizational and communication skills for coordinating across departments.
