Senior Buyer

The Senior Buyer is responsible for its Wayside subsystems in the region Singapore/Malaysia/East Asia, preparing the costing for bids, negotiating/closing contracts with suppliers, and monitor and drive performance of suppliers during project execution **Job Purposed**: The Senior Buyer is responsible for its Wayside subsystems in the region Singapore/Malaysia/East Asia, preparing the costing for bids, negotiating/closing contracts with suppliers, and monitor and drive performance of suppliers during project execution **Responsibilities** - To **lead** the Purchasing activity for a family of products or suppliers in order to obtain a competitive advantage for the Cluster. - To **provide** supply solutions for difficult sourcing issues - To be **responsible** for identifying potential savings and implementing continuous cost reduction initiatives. - To be **responsible** for ensuring the importance of supplier selection and researching and evaluating possible new suppliers in order to provide supply solutions for difficult local sourcing issues not covered by global agreements. - **Manage** relationship with suppliers (Supplier selection/approval/competitiveness/delivery performance). - To be **responsible** for **establishing** and **monitoring** supplier performance and conducting Key Supplier Development processes. To be **responsible** for implementing continual improvement processes and monitors. - To be **responsible** for **managing** and **maintaining** commercial relationships with suppliers and **conducting** complex negotiation on contractual conditions of Purchase. This will include **organising** bids and **comparing** and **judging** supplier offers relative to new and existing customer requests. - To **resolve** delivery problems and quality issues that are escalated by projects and Supply Chain and to continually monitor supplier performance. - **Lead **claim negotiations with Suppliers **Technical Knowledge / Experience** - At least 5 years of experience in Sourcing and Project Management - Experience in Railway industry preferable - Financial and commercial awareness - Good knowledge of SAP - IT literate with strong knowledge of MS Office - Solid, basic technical knowledge **Core Skills** - Strong financial, analytical and negotiating skills - Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage relationships at different levels - Excellent communication skills - Strong Leadership skills - Self-directed and results focused **Job Title** Senior Buyer **Job Segment**:Supply Chain, Project Manager, Purchasing, Buyer, Procurement, Operations, Technology, Finance
