Job Purpose
We are seeking a Junior Automation & Integration Engineer to support the digital transformation of our factory production systems. This role is critical in enabling real-time visibility and performance tracking by connecting machines to centralized monitoring platforms (e.g., SCADA, IIoT), configuring OPC UA/Kepware, working with Unified Namespace (UNS) concepts, and extracting key machine data.
Youll be responsible for designing how machines connect and share data, managing PLC logic and tag configuration, and working with suppliers for physical integration while handling software configuration in-house. This position lays the foundation for scalable data infrastructure, enabling future MES integration and centralized control room capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Design the machine connectivity architecture for real-time data acquisition and scalable system integration
Define how each machine and PLC connects to the OPC UA/Kepware platform, ensuring reliable data flow
Configure and manage online PLC tags to enable real-time monitoring of production data
Develop and modify PLC logic to capture key operational data (e.g., run status, counts, alarms), and create corresponding tags for setpoints, fault codes, and machine-specific parameters to improve visibility and data granularity
Ensure seamless integration of PLC and sensor data into the factory data lake, supporting OEE, SPC, digital dashboards, and SCADA-based control room systems
Plan and manage IP address allocations to avoid conflicts and support structured expansion
Collaborate with suppliers for cabinet wiring and hardware setup while owning system architecture and data design
Troubleshoot PLC-to-OPC connectivity and support real-time data flow to centralized platforms
Support system scalability, maintainability, and future integration with MES and Centralize control rooms
Requirements
Education & Experience
Bachelors degree in Mechatronics, Automation, Electrical, Control, or Instrumentation Engineering
0-3 years of experience in automation, industrial control, or digital transformation projects
Technical Skills
Hands-on experience with PLC systems (e.g., Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi, Allen-Bradley)
Experience with OPC UA/Kepware or similar industrial data platforms
Understanding of IP planning (e.g., NAT, subnetting, avoiding address conflicts)
Familiarity with SCADA, IIoT, and conceptual knowledge of MES systems
Comfortable working on-site with machine control panels, sensors, and wiring layout
Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI or Grafana (preferred)
Understanding of Unified Namespace (UNS) concepts for structured data integration is a plus
Collaborative and proactive mindset, able to work cross-functionally with digital, production, and engineering teams
Why Join Us?
Be part of a team transforming manufacturing through automation and data. Youll play a hands-on role in building the digital foundation for advanced analytics, real-time performance tracking, and scalable production systems.
