Role Overview
The Senior Hardware Designer will be responsible for end-to-end printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) design, from concept to production. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership, and the ability to mentor junior engineers. The successful candidate will pay a key role in driving innovation, ensuring design quality, supporting cost-reduction initiatives, and delivering robust hardware solutions for complex products.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and validation of PCBAs for embedded electronics systems.
Create and maintain complete design documentation, including schematics, Gerber files, BOMs, and manufacturing files.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (firmware, mechanical and production engineering) to ensure seamless integration and product performance.
Investigate and implement cost-optimization opportunities without compromising quality or reliability.
Support production with design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-for-test (DFT) practices.
Research and evaluate new technologies, components, and methods to continuously improve product designs.
Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior hardware engineers.
(Preferred) Contribute to firmware development of debugging to strengthen hardware-firmware integration.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical / Electronic Engineering or a related field.
5+ years of experience in hardware design and PCBA development.
Strong knowledge of circuit design, signal integrity, and power electronics fundamentals.
Proficiency with PCB design tools (Altium Designer is an advantage).
Experience preparing manufacturing files (Gerber, assembly drawings, BOMs, test documentation).
Proven ability to lead design projects independently and deliver high-quality results on time.
Strong problem-solving and research skills, with a proactive, detail-oriented approach.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to mentor others.
(Preferred) Experience with embedded firmware development (C/C++)
