Opportunities for makers and creators - together we achieve more. CFO APAC The ‘go to' person for the APAC MD for all finance and related commercial advice. The CFO is the financial steward for the business and is expected to champion all finance and related initiatives so as to provide an excellent infrastructure support base as the business propels itself forward. One key area defining this CFO role is the ability to provide insights on Asia business climate to the Controllership team in HQ in Mettlach. This requires a good balance of well-honed commercial acumen, analytical ability, structured thought process, technical finance competence as well as strong influencing skills, persistence and resilience. As the finance advisor to the Regional MD, the CFO will be interacting with various internal and external parties critical to the growth and business development phase; he/she should take an active interest in the business, brand, products and have his/her fingers on the pulse of the business at all times. As the regional leader for other core infrastructure areas (IT, Supply Chain, admin); the CFO's scope in this particular case is akin to a Chief Operating Officer; and he/she will be expected to take a business orientated view and make commercially orientated decisions; so as to protect stakeholders' interests as well as drive business expansion in the region. Key traits of the CFO include: strong communication skills, assertiveness and ability to stand firm on decisions, drive and resilience, commercial acumen, maturity, people leadership skills, integrity, adaptability and versatility. Whilst the role is based in Bangkok, it is expected that the CFO will have to travel frequently, about 50% of the time. Main Objectives: - Financial stewardship - champion the all aspects of finance, accounting and reporting and related treasury functions for the APAC region, ensuring that regional business growth objectives are aligned with group-wide corporate strategies and objectives. - Controls and corporate governance - ensure relevant processes and systems are in place to safeguard stakeholders' interests and also to achieve productivity/efficiency improvement. - Commercial business partner/support - providing financial insights and commercial business direction for the region, ensuring sales and revenue growth objectives are aligned with corporate financial targets, budgets, policies and strategic plans. - People development - coach and develop finance team in the region and build future succession program for key finance positions. - IT and admin - ensure IT and admin systems and processes are in place in order to support the APAC region as it grows. Required Qualification: Circa 20+ years' experience, ideally with several years' experience in leading a small/mid-sized regional finance team as a finance business partner in a progressive multinational. Experience in Asia is necessary, and experience in China and Thailand are hugely preferred. Some experience managing a factory would be ideal.
