FIRE Protection Design Engineer (For Data Center)

Responsibilities 

• Design, implement, and oversee civil engineering and fire protection systems for data center facilities, including site grading, drainage, foundation design, road infrastructure, and fire suppression systems.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, environmental regulations, and NFPA fire protection standards.
• Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, and construction teams to integrate safety and operational requirements.
• Conduct site assessments to evaluate geotechnical conditions and support structural integrity.
• Design, install, and maintain fire detection and suppression systems while performing risk assessments to mitigate hazards.
• Oversee inspections, testing, and maintenance schedules to ensure structural integrity, fire safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure timely project delivery within budget while minimizing disruptions to operations.

Position requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification is preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in civil engineering, fire protection engineering, or related fields, with at least 2 years of experience in data center projects.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, or other design software related to civil and fire protection systems.
• In-depth knowledge of fire protection codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, IBC, UL, local fire codes).
• Strong project management skills, including budget management, scheduling, and vendor coordination.
• Large-scale data center (over 500 racks) consulting, design or project management experiences are highly appreciated
• Strong communication, presentation, listening, and negotiation skills. 
• Good team work, good adversity quotient, adaptable to challenges and pressures
• Open minded, good interpersonal skills with excellent communication skills in multi-culture organizations
• Willing to travel in Global, especially Asia-Pacific Region
